Forsaken Me

Forsaken Me (By Cat Matchuk)

I had to move on for the sake of me
despite the aching blow.
Rip apart this identity to flee,

outcast for needing to go.

My will has been slowly bending
under the icy cage of snow.
The breath of frost is mending,

pray for my heart, let go.

Gaze to the road beyond me,
but the shadow pushes down below.
I had to move on, for the sake of me,

bleed to be free

and let go.
