All That I Had

All That I Had (By Cat Matchuk)

black and white picture of a crying child

It finally happened; the girl’s gone mad.
It took one moment, took all that she had,
and amid the sunken stars that fell from the sky,
you can sift through them, find reasons to cry.

It’s blurry to look onward, but the girl is still there.
A different person, she must’ve dyed her heart a different colour.

It finally happened; I’m no longer sane.
It took another instance, my life down the drain.
Try as I might, the girl’s gone mad,
it took the actions of a mad man, who took all that I had.
