Light

Light (By Cat Matchuk)

beautiful beauty blue bright

Press into me,
deeper
so that more than our flesh is touching,
our souls,
our hearts.

The way was foggy,
and only a small light to guide my path,
darkness at my sides.

I launched into you,
deeper
time was already testing me,
or you,
or us.

I didn’t belong here, these weren’t the words I could speak,
despite it,
you reached across the sky to paint the pink sunset,
as if your fingers were painting my body.

You pressed into me,
deeper.
Your kiss still lingered on my lips as we pulled apart.
I could still feel the warmth of your skin,
as we pulled apart.

Press into me,
deeper
so that more than our flesh is touching,
but our souls,
our hearts,
this small light.
